Procurement Specialist - Moutier, Switzerland

Position and reporting line

The Procurement Specialist, reports to Head of Supply Chain Management (SCM) in the BU-Service organization of Tornos.


In this position you will be responsible for operational purchases for spare parts of customer service department. This position is crucial to maintain optimal inflow of parts and would request retroactive action in terms to meet urgent needs of customer. You will be requested to create orders, seek for suppliers orders confirmation and fully and strongly monitor deliveries and follow up with suppliers. In addition in this position you will be requested to cooperate with Swiss Headquarter, Operational procurement and Strategic Procurement departement.


Your responsibilities

  • Identify suppliers, goods and services to proceed with purchasing process
  • Create RFQ / RFI for delivery time and purchase price 
  • Create Purchase Orders and tally these with supply requests and orders 
  • Monitor Purchase Orders confirmation status and follow up with suppliers for missing confirmation or late deliveries
  • Negotiate with suppliers operational terms of orders and deliveries 
  • Control orders versus deliveries to eliminate any discrepancies and to control quality and quantity of goods receipts (GR / IR clearing)
  • Report any supplier misperformance, cooperation or quality issues to management and SCM Office
