Tornos at EMO Hannover 2023: pushing the limits of technology with new Swiss XT range

With a futuristic approach, EMO Hannover 2023 will showcase tomorrow's technologies, particularly in terms of durability. From September 18–23, Tornos will once again be excellently positioned among the leaders in world of metalworking.

An exceptional showcase for the world's metalworking industry, EMO is always an opportunity for Tornos to shine by presenting its latest products in a setting that encourages innovation and the development of new ideas. Indeed, this international exhibition dedicated to metalworking technology always attracts the attention of manufacturing professionals, experts, and enthusiasts. The event focuses on the latest advances in machine tools, automation, control systems and innovative manufacturing solutions. Exhibitors from all over the world will present their cutting-edge products and services, reflecting the industry’s constant evolution, and Tornos is no exception.

A unique platform for professional exchanges, meetings and discussions on emerging trends, EMO Hannover 2023 is, above all, an opportunity for Tornos to meet current and prospective customers face-to-face and demonstrate the wide range of possibilities offered by its ingenious solutions.

Introducing the Swiss XT Range: the future of precision machining

Tornos is excited to unveil the Swiss XT machine range, designed to meet the intricate needs of various industries, including medical, automotive, and hydraulic/pneumatic sectors. The Swiss XT range stands out for its:

  • Versatility: Two models, the Swiss XT 16 and Swiss XT 32, accommodating 16 mm and 32 mm diameter bars, respectively
  • Flexibility: Up to six live tools, including rotary tools for high-end operations
  • Modular Design: Seamless integration of additional features, like a plug-and-play B-axis

More from Tornos: SwissDECO and SwissNano

Tornos’ stand at EMO Hannover 2023 will also feature the SwissDECO, which remains an incomparable solution that operators appreciate for its astonishing long and complex part production capabilities. Since its introduction, the SwissDECO has become a benchmark for bar turning/milling centers. Its power and infinite possibilities make it possible to produce parts that previously could not have been machined in one setup. Fast and precise, this Swiss-type lathe is particularly suited to the most demanding machining operations and a vast array of materials.

When it comes to small parts and highest precision, customers need look no further than Tornos’ SwissNano, which also will be featured at EMO Hannover 2023. High-precision machining of tiny, complex parts places extreme demands on both operators and machines. With the SwissNano range of Swiss-type lathes, Tornos has developed machines that are easy to use, space-saving and unbeatable in terms of precision.

Designed to machine very small parts with the highest precision requirements, the SwissNano 4—thanks to its kinematics—can produce two-thirds of the parts of a mechanical watch, from the simplest to the most complex, while guaranteeing excellent surface quality. This machine’s performance is not limited to watchmaking: It can also be used wherever maximum quality and precision are required, such as in the manufacture of dental implants and connectors for electronic components. These kinematics ensure a perfect balance between rigidity and thermal stability, enabling the machine to reach operating temperature quickly, saving users precious production time.

Spotlight on Swiss GT 13 B and Swiss DT 38 HP: unveiling their capabilities

At EMO Hannover 2023, Tornos is also proud to feature two additional standout machines that epitomize the company's dedication to technological ingenuity. The first is the Tornos Swiss GT 13 B, a machine unique in its class for featuring a B axis that can hold up to eight rotating tools. This six-linear axis machine is specially designed for crafting intricate parts, making it an ideal choice for specialized applications, such as manufacturing dental abutments.

At the same time, Tornos’ EMO Hannover 2023 presence will include the Swiss DT 38 HP with a focus on its full capabilities. In an application demo highlighting the Swiss DT HP’s versatility and multi-program functionalities, the machine will produce an aluminium loupe.

A decade of TISIS: celebrating software excellence

EMO Hannover 2023 is also an opportunity to discover the new technology— such as the integration of artificial intelligence, the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), and additive manufacturing—that are redefining metalworking. All these new technologies confirm Tornos' confidence in its TISIS programming and control software, which was launched at EMO Hannover 2013 and this year marks its 10th anniversary. This software is constantly evolving to become ever more efficient and responsive.

Sustainability: breathing new life into old machine

Tornos’ whole team of experts looks forward to welcoming visitors to experience its full array of solutions at hall 17, stand C14. That is also the place to discover Tornos’ commitment to sustainability, in particular its machine remanufacturing initiative that breathes new life into machines that have already served customers for more than 20 years. Tornos has had great success with its 25th anniversary campaign for the DECO 10 Plus and intends to keep up the momentum with the SAS 16 Plus. The public will be impressed by the performance and quality of these remanufactured machines.

Join Tornos in shaping the future

EMO Hannover 2023 remains an essential meeting place for companies looking to strengthen their competitiveness by adopting the most advanced technologies. The event fosters collaboration, innovation and the exchange of ideas that help shape the future of metalworking on a global scale, and Tornos is a long-standing and valued contributor to this process. Tornos invites manufacturers to bring their needs and aspirations to hall 17, stand C14, at EMO Hannover 2023 and—together, with Tornos’ legendary know-how and solutions, all under one roof—design the workshop production equipment of the future.
