MISSION

  • Driving Bill of Material cost optimization through Benchmarking,  Design-to-Cost or value engineering
  • Ensure Early involvement of suppliers for new machines
  • Innovation and technology screening
  • Participate in developing a  procurment strategy
  • Leading negotiations to secure favorable commercial terms
  • Supports operative purchasers in development and implementation of commodity processes
  • Being in charge for prototype phase of products up to launch of serial production

Your responsibilities

  • Innovation Screening: Conducts analysis of technology trends relevant to applications
  • Evaluates and enhances suppliers from a technological perspective
  • Facilitates technology workshops with suppliers in order to realize cost reduction based on a Tota-Cost-of-Ownership approach
  • Secures  early involvement in the complete Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) process
  • Actively participates in product development processes to meet cost targets; integrates preferred suppliers and Commodity strategies for critical components and technologies;Particpates in Make-or-Buy decisions;
  • Launches Design-to-Cost initiatives
  • Provides support for Redesign/Reverse Engineering projects
  • Initiates operational purchasing tasks for prototypes and pre-serial production, transferring responsibility to strategic or operational buyers once products enter serial production
  • Retains the authority to object or veto decisions regarding part selection made by other functions (R&D, Production, etc.) for procurement-related reasons

Your profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related field. Alternatively, technical education with extensive work-related experience
  • Proven track record in procurement, cost-savings activities, product management and engineering
  • At least 5-10 years of working experience in mechanical sectors, ideally CNC-machines
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • In-depth knowledge of market trends, customer needs, and product development processes
  • Languages (Fluent English mandatory, French / German/Italian is a plus
  • SAP MM experience, MS Office (PowerBi is a plus)
