Male / female mutli-disciplinary mechanic

1. Presentation of the profession

CFC multi-disciplinary mechanics make parts, tools and devices for the production/ assembly of devices, machines or installations. In collaboration with other professionals, they deal with missions and projects, develop construction solutions, create technical documents, build prototypes and perform tests. They participate in start-ups, planning and monitoring activities related to production processes, and perform maintenance

2. Tornos training concept

1st year:

During the 1st semester of the apprenticeship, the apprentice receives basic training at CAAJ, Moutier (www.caaj.ch). The second semester is instructed in the Tornos workshops at Moutier ;

2nd year:

10 months of training courses at Tornos, plus 2 months at CAAJ, in order to prepare for the partial examination which is given at the end of the 2nd year ;

3nd year:

Continuation of various training courses, along with an introduction to theprogramming of CNC machines ;

4nd year:

Apprenticeship in the firm ; preparation for the final examination in the CNC manufacturing and assembly fields.

3. The advantages of training at Tornos

Diversified training (manufacture, mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, metrology, bar turning, programming) ; During the 3rd and 4th years, possibility for the apprentices to obtain a year of "on the job" bar turning training outside of Tornos in another firm of the region, a Tornos customer ; After successfully completing the year of "on the job" training and obtaining the CFC certificate, an apprenticeship is offered still at a Tornos customer either in Europe or the United States for the purpose of learning a foreign language ; Possibility for pre-secondary school studies to follow technical professional maturity courses in parallel with the apprenticeship ; Ski camp organized by the professional school offered during the 1st year ; Extra-curricular activities day once a year ; Company cafeteria available for midday meals ; 13th month salary.

Employee qualified in our various production sectors, with the possibility of advancing in his/her discipline thanks to an ongoing professional training program in the firm ; Swiss federal certificates in maintenance, technical sales, automation, production ; Swiss federal diplomas for industry foreman, technical staff jobs ; Male / female ES technician certificate in mechanical or microtechnical engineering ; Male / female HES engineer certificate in mechanical, microtechnical, electrotechnical, industrial engineering ; Male/female EPF engineering degree.
