More than 225 guests attended Tornos-hosted Expertentreff in Rottweil, Germany

Key players from throughout the turned parts manufacturing value chain gathered Tuesday, June 27, in Rottweil, Germany, for the first-ever Expertentreff on the subject of Hochfeste Drehteile, a full-day experts’ event focusing on complex solid parts made of high-strength and often exotic raw materials. Tornos hosted and organized the event with together MAV, the leading German specialist magazine.

More than 225 guests representing parts manufacturing companies across several industries took part in the daylong event held in Rottweil’s unique and historic 3,200-square-meter Kraftwerk event space.

With the ongoing evolution of the internal combustion engine and the gradual emergence of electro mobility (e-mobility), market requirements for ever-more complex turned parts made of high-strength raw materials are on the rise. These trends are reaching into medical technology too and—in both industrial segments—new production strategies are needed. Perfect parts are the aim and, to achieve that, machines with matching kinematics, parts collection systems, tools, controls, clamping systems, lubrication and chip management solutions are needed.

These and other challenges were in the spotlight at the Expertentreff. Academic keynote speaker were Prof. Dr. Ing. Siegfried Schmalzried from Hochschule Furtwagen. Giving the customer keynote was Mr. Ferdinand Lenhart from Berger Feintechnik, part of the Berger Group.

Industry partner keynote addresses were given by representatives of UGITECH, FANUC, SCHLENKER, GÖLTENBODT, HORN, MÜLLER HYDRAULIK, HANDLING TECH and LNS.

In addition, Tornos exhibited four machines at the event: MultiSwiss 8x26, EvoDECO 10, Swiss GT 32, and SwissNano.
