Tornos hosts career day for kids

A large number of children responded to Tornos’ invitation to participate in the “Future of All Kinds” day. They will spend the day of November 8 getting an insider’s view of the profession of one of their parents by following her/him in her/his daily professional activities.

As the name implies, the “Future of All Kinds”  day is about the future and the broad perspectives that are open to girls and boys today. For a day, they discover many professional fields and new life paths. “Future of All Kinds” allows them to discover new horizons and to reflect on professional career choices and life prospects without preconceived ideas.

The project is a joint effort of schools, the professional world and the family sphere.

Seventeen years of an adventure

“Future of All Kinds” has its origins in National Girls Day. This project was initiated in 2001 as part of the 16+ apprenticeships project by the Swiss Conference of Equality Delegates. From the beginning, National Girls Day was a great success, and since then more than one million girls and boys and many companies have participated.

Tornos is no exception—and has even been a pioneer in the region. By participating once again in this event, the company plays its role of professional pole of the Jura Arc.

On the program of Thursday, November 8

After a solid breakfast in the Les Deux Tours corporate restaurant, school children will discover Tornos from the inside, following Alain Kohler, Production Manager, who will introduce them to the company.

The day will continue in the work place of the adult—usually a parent or a close family member—responsible for each child. The objective is for each participant to discover, within a few hours, the professional world of the responsible adult.

Tornos is delighted to see this wave of youth unfold on its premises.
