7th Tornos Watchmaking Days - A much anticipated event

Every year, specialists in watchmaking machining come from Switzerland, southern Germany and France to attend the Tornos Watchmaking Days, where they can discover new products, get advice and make business. This year, Tornos will unveil three brand new products and a world premiere at the event, which will be held in the Tornos showroom in Moutier from March 3-6, 2015.

Watchmaking was born with the emergence of bar turning, and has always been a central consideration for Tornos and its engineers, which is why this event is of such importance. It enables the Moutier-based machine manufacturer to exhibit new products and talk to its customers about the latest developments in their markets and specific challenges they are facing.

Over time, these discussions have led Tornos to develop new processes for its machines, as well as new machines in their own right, such as the SwissNano, entirely developed in Moutier and dedicated to the watchmaking industry.

This year, customers will be able to discover some very interesting machining solutions, as well as a brand new, extremely versatile machine: the Swiss GT 13.

The Swiss GT 13, a mid-range machine with 5 or 6 linear axes, has a 13 mm bar capacity. This new solution is perfectly positioned between the EvoDECO and the SwissNano range. It enables the company to respond competitively not only to the needs of watchmaking bar-turners, but also to those of bar-turners working in the medical, dental or electronics sector, thanks to its two modular tool positions.

In addition, visitors will be able to see the famous SwissNano that has confirmed its precision and stability repeatedly on shop floors less than two years after its launch. On one SwissNano, visitors can witness the machining of a winding stem with a record production time that comes close to a Tornos MTH dedicated cam-type machine. A second SwissNano will demonstrate its flexibility by cutting a pinion. The extraordinary capacity for milling bracelet links will be shown on the Almac BA 1008 bar milling machines. They are built on the same base as the SwissNano.

The well-known Tornos EvoDECO 10 has been fully redesigned and now incorporates the elegant curves of the EvoDECO 20 and EvoDECO 32 machines; in addition, the ergonomics of the machine and maintenance access have been substantially improved. In a world preview the TISIS software to program the machine will be presented.

Finally, the MultiSwiss multi-spindle machine proves that it has been a great success in the watchmaking sector, too.

The complete workshop will be fully monitored using the Tornos TISIS software.

A small watchmaking manufacture in the heart of Moutier will open its doors for four days. Tornos invites everyone to come and discover the Watchmaking Days from March 3-6, 2015, from 9 am to 6 pm.
